Choose the controls for your device
For local two-player play on a computer, both players can share one keyboard. On the mobile version, each player uses the touch controls on their side of the screen. Use this guide to choose the right controls before the match begins.
PC keyboard controls
- Player 1: W, A, S, D
- Player 2: the arrow keys
Agree on who will use each set of keys before starting. Both players can steer at the same time, so leave enough room for each person to reach their keys comfortably.
Mobile touch controls
On a phone or tablet, each player gets a separate touch area on their half of the screen. Swipe in the direction you want your snake to turn, and keep your fingers on your own side so you do not interfere with the other player.
If you are new to the touch controls, begin with gentle, deliberate swipes and leave time for the snake to complete each turn.
Boost and useful keyboard shortcuts
If Boost is enabled on PC, Player 1 uses Left Shift and Player 2 uses Right Shift. Use it when you have a clear route and can control the next turn.
- Space: pause or resume
- R: restart the current round or match
- M: toggle sound
A quick pre-game check
On PC, confirm who has WASD and who has the arrow keys. On mobile, make sure both players can comfortably reach their own touch area. A quick check before the countdown helps the match start smoothly.
